Selected because of its pleasant verdant ambiance and its convenient location on the outskirts of Amiens, a 5-minute drive from the A16 motorway and 10 minutes from the A This well-maintained site is ideal for an overnight stop and for longer stays for those wishing to explore this interesting region. A minute cycle ride along a canal path takes you easily and safely into the city centre of Amiens, famous for its wonderful Gothic cathedral, the largest in France, and its network of ancient waterways and floating gardens.
There are several of the Somme First World War memorials within a 40km radius. A bus leaves from a stop just outside the site for the town centre, so it is ideal for motorhomes. The site has no swimming pool but a small river runs along one side of the site. It offers a quiet atmosphere in a verdant setting.
Some road noise at night. All have a wooden terrace and outdoor furniture. Several pitches have hard standing, ideal for motorhomes. There are a few trees but very little shade. Motorhome service point. Bus stops outside site gates to take you to centre of Amiens. Easy access from motorway. Cycle hire, mini-golf, fishing, canoeing on river. Limited children's play area. Games and TV room. Marquenterre Wild Bird Park - 45 mins. Very small shop for basics, pre-order bread. Bar from pm only Fri, Sat Sun in low season.
Snack, take-away pm - pm Fri, Sat, Sun in low season and everyday except Monday in high season. Barbecues permitted. Dogs accepted. Wi-fi with charge. Two modern toilet blocks and further facilities behind the reception which are heated. All are well maintained and respectable. Only one is kept open when the site is quiet. Separate men and ladies toilets but mixed washing facilities. Temperature control showers with hooks, shelf and rail. Individual wash cubicles and toilets with toilet paper.
