Beam deflectors on headlamps First aid kit Fire extinguisher Complete set of spare bulbs Two warning triangles Torch Two x reflective vests I had all that, and all documents and when I got pulled the gendarme had no interest in any of that just the documents.
I was the only one in our group who had GB on the number plate too, the others didnt even have a sticker and we got pulled but no questions where asked. When I went to Calais a few weeks ago I did note that all bar a handfull of the British, French, German etc cars on the ferry at Dover had no headlight deflectors.

Stickers on the headlights are compulsory Just had to put them on and I was on my way I suppoe it depends whether you're driving in daylight or at night and also if the gendarme is having a good day! That's all I can think of. TBH, I have been driving in France for the past 5 years with a UK car and only been stopped once see above at the toll. You'll need headlight dimmers, and GB sticker, insurance information, license, passport obviously but thats about it.
