Allegheny Health Network welcomes patient visitation. Family and visitors are an important part of the healing process and are welcome at AHN.
One set of parents, or guardians, can visit with a patient in a NICU. Limited visitation for siblings under age 18 must be always accompanied by an adult at the discretion of the care team. Two visitors are welcome to wait in a designated area.
Patient room visitation may be more limited because of facility resources and patient treatments. More information will be made available upon arrival. Please check with the unit for visitation details as they may vary by location and unit activities.
If you have an appointment with an AHN doctor at an office or outpatient facility, you are welcome to bring two support persons with you.
Two visitors per patient are welcome between the hours of AM and PM. All visitors must check in with the security desk and show valid ID. Visitors with respiratory illness are encouraged to wear a mask, wash your hands, and cover your cough. Please note that all adults visiting patients under the age of 18 will undergo a background check in compliance with Megan's law. Visitors under age 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult exceptions for minors who are parents, emancipated, unusual circumstances Exceptions to these visitation guidelines require hospital leader approval, either at the unit level Charge RN or Unit manager or the manager of hospital operations MHO on duty.
