Once they realize the apartment that the man was trying to break into was MY apartment, I had officers escort me upstairs to get my dog and bring me to an animal-friendly hotel. I had to stay there until I was able to speak with detectives. They arrested this man and charged him with aggravated stalking, aggravated harassment, and attempted breaking and entering.
They also granted me a restraining order. I had to move as a result. I obviously declined for safety reasons and he stood me up twice. I explained to him kindly I can't trust his word and I won't go to his house.
