In Portugal, between , he studied engineering at the Technical Superior Institute in Lisbon IST , simultaneously having become conscious of his interests towards music composition by means of computer. He formalized this interest of his after having enrolled in the Royal Conservatoire of the Hague. There, between , he took the sonology course and studied composition, analogue and digital synthesis, psychoacoustics and digital interactive music, with Paul Berg, Konrad Boehmer, Joel Ryan, Simon Teemplaars and Jaap Vink.
There he has carried out countless studies on the environmental impact of noise. He has also published and presented various papers at international conferences, in collaboration with the professors Bento Coelho and Manuel Eduardo dos Santos โ on bioacoustics, underwater acoustics and noise pollution.
