Leny Yoro is leaving no stone unturned in his bid to become a Manchester United great with the help of a personal analyst. The promising young central defender, 19, joined the Red Devils from Lille in a big-money transfer after United fought off interest from Real Madrid to land the Frenchman.
Yoro has endured a difficult start to his Old Trafford career after fracturing a bone in his foot during the club's pre-season tour. And while he's now back in the team, he and United are battling to climb the Premier League table after a torrid first half of the season. He has revealed that he and United's other defenders are all in a WhatsApp group where they are sent clips of opposition strikers ahead of games - and Yoro even has his own personal analyst to try and help him find marginal gains.
With all the defenders, they send clips of the strikers, their movements, their runs. I had already someone in Lille, so I keep working with him. Or for a cross with the first or second ball, everything is really important. Yoro was signed by Erik ten Hag but is now adapting to life under Ruben Amorim , who was prised away from Sporting Lisbon back in November to succeed the Dutchman. I just try to do what he asks me to do. He's big on communication with the players because he played at a top level.
But it's important. We have a lot of training and, for him, training is really important because you play the game like you train. If you are not working, if you are lazy in training, he won't like you - he'll kill you! You need to be punctual.
