A pampering spa session should definitely be on your To-Do list while you are in Phuket. Of course, considering the fact that there are hundreds, and perhaps even thousands of spa parlours in Phuket, it can be daunting to find one that meets your expectations.
From nondescript massage parlours to luxurious wellness spas, the service, price and quality varies greatly. Luckily for me, the companions I was with were no strangers to spas in Phuket, hence we were able to find one through word-of-mouth recommendation. Tucked away in the secluded Phuket Town, away from the bustling Patong, lies a charming day spa.
Surrounded by an exotic tropical garden of raintrees, the Raintree Spa certainly lives up to its name. An independent building that sits within the Sino House hotel compound next to the main hotel lobby, it can be quite difficult to find. For us, we were a little lost at first due to the heavy rain blocking our visibility. Spa entrance. I settled for a Royal Thai massage and a tropical fruit scrub while the rest did aromatherapy massage, milk scrubs, foot reflex etc. After which, we were ushered to wash our feet and change into slippers before going into the treatment rooms. The masseurs were professional and skilled, and I could feel the before and after effect of the massage. My companions have similar feedback as well and we all find the spa experience delightful.
