The body has the innate capacity to heal itself under the right conditions. It is not simply a luxury it has been branded over the years, but a very useful, important and ancient practice promoting physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.
Not only does it provide relief from injuries, chronic pains, stiffness, but it also activates the parasympathetic nervous system -- an important piece of health considering our overactive sympathetic nervous system in a stressful world. We output so much, but there are not many moments in which we truly receive and are not required to do anything other than receiving. It's never too early to start, and never too late. I am a firm believer in the ability of massage to greatly increase quality of life.
