I began my career in with the St. Joseph County jail. In , I was promoted to the rank of Probationary Patrolman and successfully graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Class In , I began working as a patrol officer and was assigned to different patrol beats throughout St.
Joseph County. At that time, there were a total of nine schools taught by myself and another officer.
