A previously convicted sex offender faces charges for allegedly enticing a year-old child he met on Snapchat to send him explicit photos.
Robert Cohs, 56, was taken into custody at his home in Bolton where troopers arrested him on charges of risk of injury to a minor and enticing a minor, according to Connecticut State Police. The warrant affidavit supporting the charges said state police found that Cohs allegedly began communicating with a girl on Snapchat in July and that the conversation quickly turned sexual. Investigators recovered photos of the minor which were compromising, the warrant affidavit said.
Very early on in the conversation the child asks how old the man is and he replied with a photo that could not be recovered, the warrant affidavit said. Investigators also found that Cohs was a registered sex offender, having been convicted of an attempted sexual battery charge involving a girl under 12 in Florida in , state police wrote.
Investigators were able to recover multiple explicit photos sent over Snapchat, the warrant affidavit said. Cohs agreed to speak with investigators as the search was being carried out.
He told state police his prior conviction stemmed from his time with the U. When asked about the recent allegations, Cohs denied communicating with a minor, according to the warrant affidavit. Investigators showed him multiple photos the girl received which were recovered, one of which he confirmed depicted his dog and another showed his partially exposed shoulder in a shower, the warrant affidavit said.
