The Day Spa acts as a mini-retreat, nestled between the cleaners and beauty shop across the street from main exchange. Reyes treated herself to an early birthday present with the five-hour special. Tired hands can get a boost with paraffin treatment, gel or acrylic nail sets, and choice of nail polish color or French manicure.
Pedicures with paraffin are offered as well. Now the exchange service is trying to take them away from where they have to be. Army and Air Force Exchange Service Day Spas are dishing up the royal treatment to help put worn-out troops and family members at ease. Massage therapists and cosmetologists have a menu of sumptuous delights to make patrons feel better and look better. The spas, at six locations in Europe and an additional nine downrange, have rooms dedicated to massage, manicures, pedicures, and facial and body treatments.
She recently visited the spa in Vogelweh, Germany. While Reyes, a civilian employee in the community, received her facial, which includes a cleansing, peeling and moisturizing, her eyes closed and she drifted off to a calmer place.
As soon as customers step into the reception room, they are surrounded in light colors that start easing away stress and replacing it with a feeling of comfort. The result: an ambiance that helps calm the body. Then customers are taken into individual rooms and the treatments begin: nail service, waxing, massage therapy, body treatment and facials. It covers several different services, including the coveted massage.
Massages come in a variety of forms. They can focus on certain body parts or on an entire body. They are available in , or minute sessions, and in different styles.
