Off-duty police officers are available for hire to provide police presence for a range of functions. Pay Duty Officers will also provide the timely notification to the Police Communications Centre for the timing of any special effect activities that may cause public alarm. Cancellation of pay duty assignments must be received at least 24 hours in advance. Email notification is required. Cancellations received after that time, will be subject to a three-hour minimum per officer and the administrative fee. Events must be held within the Durham Region. Alcohol-related events require a minimum of two officers.
Officers assigned will be in full uniform only no plain clothes. Prohibited Functions Private policing to a premise with a permanent liquor licence approved by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario to offer the sale and service of liquor, where the primary purpose of the premise is the sale of alcohol.
Fees Please note, a three hour minimum charge applies for all officers and vehicles required for a pay duty.
