Castro Valley will be the first campus center open to the community in addition to students. We know that in our communities, not everyone has access to health care. Many times, it is our youth that are the gateway to accessing care, for themselves, their parents, their grandparents, etc.
The two portables previously occupied by the behavioral health staff stood vacant until a few years ago, when local commercial real estate developer Cliff Sherwood connected the dots. And he was right. This new health center will be an incredible resource for Castro Valley. The need was there. CVUSD has remodeled the interior of the portables and connected them, creating one cohesive space, filled with multiple exam rooms, offices, labs, a small waiting area, and restrooms.
