Being the hopeless romantic that I am, I knew that one day I would love to see that bus come for me. I mean? I am lying. But that was just to demonstrate the level of romance I expect from a better half or potential better half. From what our parents tell us, dating was a tad bit romantic compared to our version. Fair, we still have the great people who see you somewhere, try and get your number, call for days on end and send you that morning and night text religiously.
Where are these sort of people hiding? I would like to go and hang out there. This concept is nothing new. No I am not promoting it. I just think before we delve deeper into this topic, we need to acknowledge that the idea of having options has always been there. By having options, I am talking about chatting up or seeing more than one person at a time. Truth is, as much as people would like to pin the blame on the internet being the sole reason that dating and relationships have started going south is a bit unfair to this great creation that has opened up so many doors to learning and loving.
We keep learning how small the world is becoming everyday. The reality. So chances are, one may want to expand the scope you know, open up to new people in difference area codes? Anything wrong with that? Little did I know hey? Digital technology and smartphones in particular have transformed many aspects of our society, including how people seek out and establish romantic relationships. A friend and I were having lunch with another friend. He was about to meet with his new GF.
We had to know where this new love started right? We are girls. We were curious. He gave the low down and boy was it interesting. He found the love of his life on an online dating app.
I was not aware that things got that point already. So I tried it out for a bit and boy was it funny. I was more shocked to find people with partners on the app. Why are you on there if you have a bae? Underwhelming experience, I must say. Nonetheless, I introduced more people to the app and they have been having so much fun.
