The male follows her into a room and moments later, Fang is forced out of the room at gunpoint. On video, Rivera-Ramirez is seen pointing a gun at her head and makes her unlock the front door for another male, identified as Juan Carlos Hernandez.
As Fang opens the door, she attempts to run away but the two males force her into the back of the business. They then dragged her into a room where a computer was unplugged and the video stopped recording. Through investigation, detectives determined that Fang and Rivera-Ramirez shot several rounds at each other. Fang died at the scene and Rivera-Ramirez called and requested medical assistance for several gunshot wounds.
Juan Carlos Hernandez fled from the business before officers arrived on scene. It has been learned through video and physical evidence that both Juan Carlos Hernandez and Jorge Rivera-Ramirez were both in possession of handguns and both men shot Sihui Fang causing her death. Homicide detectives also learned that APD robbery detectives have been investigating a string of armed robberies in the Albuquerque involving two men who were robbery massage parlors.
That investigation is continuing. APD has advocates for victims of violent crimes, including domestic violence and sex crimes. Victims, including family of homicide victims, can call to reach one of the advocates.
