Acting on tips from hotel staff and information culled from seedy Internet ads, Thursday night arrested a year-old Dedham woman on charges of selling sex inside a room of a Bedford Street hotel. Police received a tip earlier in the week from staff at the on Bedford Street in Lexington, and followed up on that by reviewing websites where prostitutes passing through the area are known to advertise their services.
Investigators executed a sting operation at p. Dyer, 23, of 15 Bussey St. Police in Lexington have made , most of them involving an alleged prostitute passing through the area and staying for a while in a hotel or apartment in town. According to Lt. McLean said local hotels are good about informing police when guests appear to be engaging in illicit activity, such as prostitution. Police also use technological tools and interagency communication to keep tabs on these kind of vice activities around town.
