The faculty made a great contribution to providing the Armenian pharmaceutical service with qualified personnel. Prior to its creation, only specialists with secondary professional pharmaceutical education were trained in the republic, and to obtain higher pharmaceutical education, students were forced to attend Russian universities: Moscow Medical Institute after Sechenov or the Pyatigorsk Pharmaceutical Institute.
A great contribution to the formation of the faculty was made by the rector of the medical institute professor E. Formation of the teaching staff at the profile departments of the Faculty of Pharmacy was conducted with the involvement of both: the own staff of the medical institute and specialists from other universities in Armenia, as well as young promising specialists with higher pharmaceutical education who studied in Moscow and Pyatigorsk.
In the faculty graduated from the first graduates — 25 pharmacists-pharmacists. The work of the faculty from the day of its foundation until was regulated by the combined dean-offices: pediatric — pharmaceutical, sanitary-hygienic — pharmaceutical, stomatological- pharmaceutical.
During that period the faculty was directed by associate professor L. Manukyan, associate professor J. Gevorgyan, associate professor I. Azizyan, professor S.
Kesyan, professor A. Tadevosyan, professor A. Hambardzumyan, professor A. Yenokyan became the first Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy. From to the faculty was headed by professor H. A: Asratyan. From to the present day the acting Dean of Faculty is B. Training in the Faculty is conducted in 3 languages: Armenian, Russian and English. The Faculty trains both local and foreign students. The Faculty cooperates with the pharmaceutical and medical institutions of the republic, pharmaceutical companies, pharmacies, pharmaceutical plants and research institutes.
