Police said that two craigslist ads led to additional arrests on prostitution charges and Omaha City Attorney Marty Conboy said investigators are keeping a close eye on the site. The two recent cases followed the highly publicized arrests of six men who had answered craigslist ads. Just weeks later, investigators had undercover officers answer new ads to see if the person who placed them was trying to sell sex.
Investigators said Teri Walrath, 20, was charged with prostitution. Victoria Gosh, 20, faces charges of solicitation of prostitution and prostitution.
Katherine Meadows-Heredia, 21, was charged with solicitation of prostitution, prostitution and massage without a license. Conboy said that even though there are thousands of these ads on craigslist, they don't all deal with something that's illegal.
He also said that while so-called street prostitution is an even bigger problem in the area, his office considers both kinds of prostitution as criminal offenses.
