David Archer, 53, of Essex, recruited 'vulnerable' women to work as prostitutes while cruising around shopping areas, before creating profiles for them on adultwork.
He kept the sex workers at his properties, including two hotels and a residential house which was converted into a brothel to cater for large numbers of punters. Described in court as a 'psycho' by one prostitute, Archer imposed strict rules on the women, forcing them to wear underwear at all times and monitoring them with CCTV cameras 24 hours a day.
He recruited one woman after finding her crying at a bus stop and offered her a place to stay in Archer also forced one of his victims to pose for explicit photographs before groping her. He was finally arrested in January after one of his victims called police after being locked inside a bedroom at Archer's home in Hornchurch, Essex.
Archer was convicted of three sex attacks on two of the workers after a trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court. He had pleaded guilty to controlling prostitution, sex trafficking and concealing criminal property. Sending him to prison, Judge Canavan said Archer was involved in the 'wholesale commercial management of properties and prostitutes'. Archer's trusted associates, Emma Cox left , 41, and Zobia Taqi right , 29, were spared jail after they pleaded guilty to controlling prostitution.
