If you drive around nd Ave and Division you will see gangbangers hanging out and junkies. You will also see low-key pimps pushing their junky hookers. I've never seen this in Nampa. The police presence in Idaho is astounding. All the criminals are probably packing their bags for Oregon where they can reign free. The crime in east Portland and Gresham is skyrocketing as criminals around the country have found a safe-haven in certain areas for their activities.
Seriously, if you are afraid, get a weapons permit, as Idaho has great gun laws and promotes self-defense of its citizens, unlike communist states like California. Most criminals here know Idahoans are not afraid to use their guns to defend themselves and their fellow citizens. There is even a very good chance that grandma may be packing.
