A majority of Israelis support the continuation of a ceasefire after the first stage of the deal is complete, a new poll from public broadcaster Kan shows. The data suggests 50 per cent of the public wants the agreement to stay in place, even if that means ending the war with Hamas indefinitely. Twenty-seven per cent said the conflict should resume after the first stage with around 18 per cent of respondents saying they did not know.
It added that the room will include representatives from Egypt, Qatar, the United States, Israel and the Palestinian territories.

Asif Rahman, 34, was arrested by the FBI in November weeks after classified documents appeared on the Telegram messaging app. He entered guilty pleas in federal court in Virginia to two counts of willful retention and transmission of classified information related to the national defense, each of which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. Prosecutors say Rahman, a CIA employee since , abused his access to top-secret information by printing out documents related to Israel so that he could take them home, before leaking the top-secret documents to people not authorized to receive them.
Israel carried out a retaliatory attack on air defence systems and missile manufacturing facilities in Iran in late October. In court papers, the government has said the leak caused Israel to delay its attack plans. Government discussions have now been ongoing for several hours.
