This, to me, is an attempt to purge adult content creators to make the site more marketable to advertisers. This ask from Patreon is a gross overreach. It's hard to even fathom how his move protects anyone. In fact all it does it put adult content creators in danger.
I produce a comic which an be considered adult content even though there is no sex or genitals. It's ABDL and that has its own little kettle of hate for it--I'm also a trans woman who is being written in the narrative as "groomers and pedo's". Patreon will withold all of my payouts unless one complies with this new policy. Apparently they were talking about some sort of alternative but that never showed up.
