Welcome to Intro-to-Pole Dance the Series! Students will learn everything they need to know about pole dancing in this class in order to create a strong foundation to move forward into Beginner Level 1. Students can expect to learn how to create and use momentum and begin building the strength to hold their bodyweight.
Students will learn their first basic spins, sits, tricks, and climbing! A series class means students sign up for the same date and time for 8-weeks until graduating into Level 1 classes. Students love this option as it can be a more progressive experience than drop-in classes as you will attend with the same fellow students and instructor for 8 weeks. Classes will start with a minute warm up followed by pole dancing and ending with a minute cool down. Conditioning will be done throughout class time.
This Intro-to-Pole Series will include 6, 90 minute classes, with a half hour to work with anxiety from different techniques and frameworks and an hour to learn pole technique. It will be trauma-informed and queer, trans and fat affirming.
All bodies welcome! This Intro-to-Pole Series will be taught by an experienced pole instructor, Steele Starling who is also a LCSW psychotherapist specializing in complex trauma and anxiety. Steele identifies as a bi, trans, abuse survivor, pole dance instructor and mental health therapist. Join experienced pole dancer and therapist Steele Starling for this beautiful two part workshop towards Self-Discovery!
