Not many of the audience members were able to stay still in their seats and a constant wave of foot-tapping, head bobbing, and the occasional wriggle in the seats. The cast deliver a solid performance, with two of the leading ladies stealing the spotlight. Gerardine Sacdalan as Juliet dazzles with her powerful vocals and infectious energy, making her journey feel dynamic and heartfelt β although a little impulsive.
And then there is Lara Denning. Her moving, commanding performance brings fresh perspective to the narrative. However, despite an unexpected chemistry between Anne and Will Jay McGuiness that shone through in the smallest of moments, overall, the male performers do not quite match the strength of their female counterparts.
Although I did giggle at the De Bois Band. A little more flexibility would have gone a long way. A must-see for fans of pop music and those seeking a joyous, empowering night out!

The friendship between the girls is the driving force of the narrative; as close as only childhood best friends are, they find the outside world of politics and forced marriage imposing on their youthful idyll. The performance space at The Glitch feels perfect for this show.
The audience is greeted by goodie bags filled with South Asian brand collaborations including burfi, jewellery and makeup. Whilst this is a delightful start to a show experience, it becomes so much more when the links become clear.
