Plus, the only accessible rink is in the Galleria. Not a place for a date. Is there any Korean BBQ in your area? That's a great date activity because it's smoky, messy, fun, and there's lots to talk about. I guess you could appear to be quite creative and culturally interesting if you take your date somewhere interesting too. If she works in Houston but lives in Conroe, I'm assuming you two are meeting in Houston after work, correct? This is why you're meeting after 6pm? If your date lives in Conroe, she's facing a 45 min drive home in the evening I can't even imagine what her morning commutes down I are like.
My suggestions - if she works in Downtown, meet for dinner in the area These areas are also close to I, so she can easily hop onto the freeway.
There are also lots of coffeehouses in the Heights that I'm not as familiar with. If you're up for an actual activity, maybe a stroll along the Sabine Promenade starting at Sabine Bridge and heading east towards the Aquarium and Wortham Center. Discovery Green is also a great place to wander around, with lots of cozy benches for chatting Good luck! Rollerskating works too. It is kinda cheezy, but surprisingly lots of fun, even if you are a novice.

BTW - if you go the Korean BBQ route, know that you and your date will possibly smell like BBQ for the rest of the night though it depends on the quality of the ventilation system at the restaurant and how well you grill the meat Some people are bothered by this, others not so much Korean food isn't messy at all, though I recommend Seoul Garden or Korea Garden. These restaurants are good options for first-timers who aren't Korean Seoul Garden has the nicest interior design There are a few Korean restaurants popping up in Bellaire Chinatown, but I wouldn't recommend them.
