This trip was originally planned for a few weeks ago with the primary goal being Amberjack jigging at the deep water shelf rigs. The tropical storm that hit south Texas messed that up and we had to bump back a week.
Unfortunately, the feds only grant recreational guys a little over 3 weeks to keep an amberjack. Ill save that rant for another time but the result was we had to pivot from the original gameplan.
