WROC β Troopers said they arrested a Naples man after a rifle was found on a school bus he was driving. Ferry bought a rifle from a store and was then seen driving away in a Naples School Bus. Investigators said the bus was occupied with 12 students and the rifle was found under the seat in its original packaging. There was no ammo. Naples Central School was notified and they responded to the scene. Investigators found no credible threats to the school and there was no indication Ferry was intending to carry out school violence.
The district confirmed on social media that Ferry is no longer employed with them. Ferry was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon on school grounds and endangering the welfare of a child.
