This glossary provides definitions of terms used in Canada Post documents. These definitions are under continual review and the contents may be amended from time to time without notice. An acceptable item is a mail item that meets the specific requirements and conditions of a service available through us.
Acceptance is a favourable reception of mail items prepared by the sender before mailing according to conditions we stipulate.
An address is the information required to identify the specific location of a home or business. An address could also be the destination where mail is delivered and received. The Address Accuracy Program is a program designed to encourage you to accurately address your mail.
Taking part in the program is mandatory for all mailings greater than 5, items. We consider an address as accurate when all the parts of the address are present, correct, and match information in our address database.
The carrier is normally a single sheet or over cover that you may attach to the outside of the publication or enclose with the host publication. You must not personalize address carriers with more than the address block information name and address of the addressee.
