The document proposes developing a vacant lot in the Avondale neighborhood of Sacramento into a multicultural center with two floors. The first floor would contain a grocery store and food counters serving home-cooked meals. The second floor would have an English learning center and job assistance resources. Data about the neighborhood shows many residents do not speak English at home, have low educational attainment, and receive public assistance.
Few jobs are located in Avondale, so most residents commute long distances. The center aims to address language barriers, provide healthy food options, help residents find employment, and strengthen community ties. Read less. Download now. More Related Content. Avondale 1.
