How well can you know a person at the early stage of dating? It's hard to tell, really. You never truly get to know someone at the beginning of a relationship. It's only when you get past the honeymoon phase that your partner starts to let go of the walls and reveals their true self. It starts off as a typical romcom where a woman falls in love with a guy she met online.
They have great chemistry as they enjoy the typical nightlife of a couple in their '20s. Then, there's a twistβthings take a darker turn as their relationship becomes more serious.
The guy begins to show his true colors. He's extremely obsessive, jealous, and maybe a little codependent, leaving a string of non-stop text messages like " Where are you? Ray Nicholson , son of Jack Nicholson and who recently appeared in the horror sequel Smile 2 , plays her codependent boyfriend who seemingly starts off as a nice guy. But sure enough, he soon reveals himself to be a little manic and possibly dangerous. I Love You Forever is a new dark romantic dramedy with a surprise dry sense of humor provided by its co-writer and co-director, comedienne Cazzie David , who is the daughter of famed Curb Your Enthusiasm and Seinfeld co-creator Larry David.
Cazzie is also known for dating stand-up comedian Pete Davidson prior to his rise in popularity from SNL. Is this movie about their relationship? Probably not, but we suppose people will likely want to connect the film with her personal life. Cazzie David shares directing and writing credits with her filmmaking partner Elisa Kalani , and the movie marks their feature debut. The current dating landscape is bleak at best, and no one is more aware of this than Mackenzie, a disillusioned year old law student played by Sofia Black-D'Elia whose love life consists of non-committal hookups and situationships from hell.
However, when the honeymoon phase wanes and the cracks begin to show, Mackenzie is forced to come to terms with whether or not she is to blame or if her love is actually too good to be true.
