They make no judgements against you and will happily work with you to make sure you can keep coverage.
We have to have insurance because of the law. When that happened it damaged competitive pricing, because we can't just not carry insurance, so we're stuck paying whatever the cost.
In a country where capitalism owns politicians that have allowed abuses from multiple sources it's nice to work with a company that still thinks of you as a person and not a profit.
